Feature Request: Buttons for immediate sounds

This tool is great. I've used it a number of times on a friends laptop, but there is one thing I wish could be added.
Since you are working on the next version, any chance you might add a couple extra buttons that can be configured to play a single sound immediately?

I know I could do it with one of the four tracks, but I normally have them all loaded with music or background sounds. I would love to have a couple buttons that can be clicked to play an immediate sound (Door being kicked open, Trap going off, An alarm bell, a specific monster roar, a bad guys speech/taunt, etc.)

That would allow me to still have the wonderful multi-layered sound/music, and still be able to quickly launch a very specific sound effect without having to pull up a second piece of software when my players trigger something.

I'll go and add it now. It'll give me something easy to do, while I'm trying to find out how to select the Output Device - which I CAN'T DO!!!

Hey exciting news...

I've managed to build syrsincape with 11 buttons for immediate sounds. Works awesome. As soon as I can comipile, I will release a beta version for you to have a go of.

Hi all!

My new version of Syrinscape is up and ready to use.

Down the side are 15 immediate playback buttons. Just put files called s01*.* to s15*.* in your SoundSet directories and they should automatically populate these buttons.

I have made a sound set "Dungeon", that utilizes this new feature, so download it too.

Have a go and let me know how it's working.

New feature request though (ha, like you didn't see that one coming!):

I love the "single sound" buttons on the RHS of Syrinscape, but is it possible that some/all of these could be loaded on the fly? That way you can respond when the players do something totally unexpected, assuming you have an appropriate sound to hand of course! :)

Yay wonderfull feature Benjamin! I really like the new insta-Buttons although I noticed something. When you start one sound and for whatever reason start another sound very soon after, the new sound kills off the old one still running which sounds rather ... well interuptive ^^
Is there a way to unchain those sounds from one another so you can hit multiple buttons at once?

Also some sort of global hotkey feature would be awesome for those, as I'm likely to not have syrinscape in focus all the time and rather not click around to "find it" in midgame.

Don't worry about the sound device selection too much ... I don't think it bothers alot of people anyways. (Edit: Whoops I just saw it DID bother some people ... uhm yeah never mind ^^)
