Loop sizes, e1, oh my!

Hi. I just downloaded this wonderful program and had a few questions.
1. Do all loops have to be a certain size? I had a sound effect of a starship engine that only lasted 17 seconds, and Syrinscape wouldn't play it in the loop channels until I used Audacity to lengthen it 3 fold. It plays now. So, size?
2. Any sound I label "e1" doesn't play for me. E2-e4 work just fine, though.
Finally, I messed around with the "Battle" Folder in an attempt to do a few things and now whenever I use that folder in Syrinscape, I get one of my altered loop1 tracks instead of the original (I've since un-installed and re-installed the program, and it still does it).
Thanks for a great app.

Problem building soundsets...
Hey jptarus,
Do you want to e-mail me a few of the sounds you've been trying to load in?
And describe to me what you tried to do, and how you did it. I will try and do the same and see what happens.
Email me at:
As long as no individual attachment is bigger than 5M then e-mail as many as you like.
Thanks for you positive comments... it's great to see people are starting to play with the soundsets themselves... hopefully I can now iron out any bugs we find!
Benjamin
Hey, I didn't see an e-mail.
Hey, I didn't see an e-mail. And I don't want to make a habit of e-mailing you sounds to work on. One, I'm sure you're already busy. Two, I tend to like to be as varied and different as possible with my game material, so I'd have to have a TON of stuff done up.
We are patient hunters.
Maybe something helpful.
Hi,
I had a bit of a play to see if I could get Syrinscape to reproduce your prob. Not much luck. You can still attach a couple of files onto a post (Max size 5MB) and I'll try with your actual files.
Here are some ideas...
Use wav files or ogg vobis rather than mp3s. I did get Syrinscape to play some mp3s at strange sample rates... but when I encoded the samples as just plain of wavs (44K 16bit) these problems did not occur.
Also, make sure you check your naming.
loop1*.wav
loop2*.wav
e1*.wav
e2*.wav
e3*.wav
e4*.wav
And one more thing...
Syrinscape needs to re-audit the playback directory again each time you want to add a sample - so that it knows it's there. That means hitting the "Select Dir" button and then going OK again (each time you change what's there to play) [You can also set off an audit by reloading the state using the "load state" button]. Syrinscape doesn't automatically keep re-checking the playback directory.
Give these things a try, and let us all know if that helps.
