Ranin Mimmerin

Not so dashing Gnome

Ranin was born in the medium sized city of Hurondor. His family of 20 along with his extended family of 72 close relations lived in a small pocket of land nestled up against the northern wall of the city. It was a happy life, until the city was attacked by dark fearsome creatures from the frigid highlands to the north. The creatures brought with them terrible beasts the size of giants, which hurled themselves against the walls, pounding the stone to rubble. The Mimmerin family happened to live exactly where the beasts broke through and were either crushed by the falling chunks of wall or were devoured by the horrible beasts (because everyone knows that Gnomes taste great). Ranin survived by hiding in one of the many cellars his family had dug to store food in for the long winters (which coincidently was why the northern wall's foundations were so weak). Ever since that day, Ranin has sworn vengence against the dark forces and will stop at nothing to see them destroyed (as long as it doesn't conflict with any meal times)!

P.S. Currently Ranin has been wandering the Northern Highlands in search of the tribal chief who destroyed his family home (plus there are really good mushrooms up there in the north).
