The world as I have known it is no more. I have seen the sun flash by like a speeding chariot of the Gods. Day and night passed by in numbers uncounted, but I and the rest of my people have remained untouched by time's hand. As the hold spell has finally released us from its grasp, I have found myself in a new and savage land. A forest the likes of which has not been seen since the creation of the world has grown thick and savage across the entire island. The mountain fortress where I live, now feels like the only sanctuary left to my people and yet a part of me longs to break through the prison of trees and see what else has survived.

Temptations from the Past

I am resting under the overhanging branches of a hundred year old oak tree. It wasn't there the last time I journeyed through these lands and I am struck again by how much time has passed while I was trapped inside that Hold Spell. The others are asleep, save for the guard which is nodding off at the edge of the clearing. I cannot sleep. My mind is plagued with thoughts which I would not dare voice to anyone; dark thoughts of lust and greed. I am afraid to even write down the deep desire which burns within me.
She plagues my mind!
Is it such a terrible thing, that I do not mourn my Father's death? If only he had passed on to me that which I want more than anything. Yet she doesn't even glance at me. Her eyes have fallen all too quickly on another.
I hate her!
And yet...
My brother rest peacefully.
I envy him that.
